Missouri fire and rescue personnel will remember one of their own this week.
Firefighter Donald E. Schaper, 53, of Timber Knob Volunteer Fire Department, collapsed Friday at the scene of a medical incident, according to a department statement.
Fellow members initiated care, and Schaper was transported to Baxter Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Timber Knob and Pontiac Price Place Fire Department, where he also volunteered, are assisting the family with planning a firefighter funeral.
