This two day course will provide participants with an understanding of a wide range of crisis intervention services including pre and post incident crisis education, significant other support services, on-scene support services and crisis intervention for individuals. This course also covers demobilizations after large scale traumatic incidents, small group defusing and the group intervention known as Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). This Basic CISM course specifically prepares participants for providing several of these interventions, specifically demobilizations, defusing the CISD.

Instructor: Course will be taught by ICISF instructor Michael R. Cobb, B.A. Ed., B.C.E.T.S. Michael Cobb currently serves as a Captain with the Richland, Washington Police Department. Captain Cobb has 18 years experience as a member of the special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team and served as a K-9 handler for 9 years. Capt. Cobb provides CISM specialty team services to the WSTOA. Mike is a faculty member with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and serves on the ICISF Speakers Bureau and International Advisory Committee.
